Le Ruffian (1983) is a French adventure film directed by José Giovanni and starring Lino Ventura. The story follows Aldo, a tough and solitary man living in the harsh wilderness of northern Canada. Once a gold prospector, Aldo has withdrawn from society and now survives by hunting and trapping in the frozen landscape.
His quiet and isolated life is disrupted when he learns that his younger brother, who works at a nearby gold mine, has been killed in a mysterious accident. Convinced that the official explanation hides a darker truth, Aldo returns to civilization to investigate.
